Village on the Downs Retirement Village, Toowoomba, Queensland
Village on the Downs is a premier retirement village – unique in the Toowoomba region. The entire village is a purpose-built retirement community consisting of modern, architecturally designed housing in duplex format. The ultimate design concept will also include a new community centre, medical centre, shopping village, assisted care living units and a nursing home to provide a full range of retirement living options.
The works are being carried out as a staged construction plan, and Laing O’Rourke is currently involved in constructing Stages 1-15, which will consist of 227 units at completion.
FEATURES:
- 140 modern, architecturally designed housing in duplex, triplex and stand-alone format of brick veneer with colorbond roof
- optional second bathroom plumbing included in the underslab and capped off at floor level, allowing conversion at a later date
- stage 1 works included the main entry water feature of stainless steel cascading steps with built garden areas on surrounding sides
- stage 6 works included a landscaped park and water feature.
- all units are wheelchair accessible throughout
- external boundary is fully fenced with entrance security gates and cameras
- 24 hour monitored emergency call system
- rainwater storage tanks for each unit
- common park areas with pergolas and water fountains to enhance the precinct.
