Port Office, Brisbane, Queensland
This historic building was renovated according to the architect's original drawings and hand-written specification, which still exist today.
FEATURES:
- originally constructed in 1880
- designed by the Queensland Colonial Architect, F.D.G. Stanley and built by notable early Brisbane contractor, John Petrie
- altered and extended a number of times and Stanley's original design became obscured by a single storey wrap around extension to street frontage
- new woodwork matched with old, sandstone replaced, and doors, windows, stairs and balustrades reconstructed
BENEFITS:
The successful outcome for this important project was due to extensive experience in historical restoration.
