William McCormack Place was designed and constructed to accommodate a number of government agencies, meeting the SEDA 4-star energy rating, a benchmark for environmental excellence.

- cladding of double glazing and a combination of composite aluminium and colourbond insulated panels, to reduce heat absorption and insulate building against tropical conditions
- building management system designed for energy efficiency, that controls lights, security and air conditioning
- cost efficient air conditioning and power plant units, and
- associated landscaping, car park and road works.
